Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) After 9 minutes of play, Rahan's Casey Myler made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Christopher Stapleton was left in no man's land by his defense there! Toby Couturier hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Gerald McTom received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Christopher Stapleton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 19 minutes into the match, Milltown's goal looked a bit too open when Trevor McAlphie came free, but Christopher Stapleton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Antonio Pinette lost his temper 21 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 20 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Milltown! In the 23rd minute there was a penalty for Rahan. Berkley Murphy stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Christopher Stapleton. 0-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Trevor McAlphie in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Christopher Stapleton saved Milltown from getting behind. Christopher Stapleton didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Trevor McAlphie went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Jon Dozier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Ardán Dalton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Trevor McAlphie sped through Milltown's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Christopher Stapleton. Milltown's Christopher Stapleton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerald McTom in the 42nd minute of play. Trevor McAlphie might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Christopher Stapleton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Trevor McAlphie ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Trevor McAlphie in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Christopher Stapleton saved Milltown from getting behind. After the first half Rahan were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Trevor McAlphie made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 57thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Christopher Stapleton would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. 60 minutes into the match, Gerald McTom dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Christopher Stapleton, 0-5. In a very dangerous position, a player in Rahan fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 64th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Milltown a penalty, 66 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Grant Fountain, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Rahan's Ardán Dalton. 1-5. In the 71st minute, Gerald McTom fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Christopher Stapleton, passed just outside the right post. Ardán Dalton came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Milltown's Rosario Vaillancourt. But to his dismay, Rosario Vaillancourt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-5. If Gerald McTom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 81 in the game by Trevor McAlphie from a close distance when the talented Christopher Stapleton managed to make a qualified save. Milltown's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, Milltown's Toby Couturier got a free kick in the 82nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Trevor McAlphie got free with Christopher Stapleton in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 85 minutes into the match, Gerald McTom dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Christopher Stapleton, 2-6. After 88 minutes, Ariel Alexander mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Milltown and the Rahan players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Milltown's Ariel Alexander got a free kick in the 89th minute. Christopher Stapleton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Casey Myler, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Jon Dozier's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ardán Dalton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. The Rahan supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Rahan would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
