In the 11th minute, Brogan McFrancise made a precise shot to the right of Össur Aðalmundsson. Vernd Grindavík's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Joseph Quinnless's late challenge caught a Vernd Grindavík's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Todd Sheridan in the 25th minute of play forced Vernd Grindavík's goalkeeper Össur Aðalmundsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Össur Aðalmundsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joseph Quinnless in the 26th minute of play. With a little luck, Kilnacrew FC's Donn Todd got control of the ball when Bjarnleifur Hallbjörnsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Vernd Grindavík's goal looked a bit too open when Brogan McFrancise came free, but Össur Aðalmundsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Todd Sheridan kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Kilnacrew FC's Donn Todd proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Kilnacrew FC from getting a goal against them. But to his dismay, Todd Sheridan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bjarnleifur Hallbjörnsson made a kick off. Donn Todd stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bjarnleifur Hallbjörnsson's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. After 55 minutes of play Vernd Grindavík's Tryggvi Loðmundsson was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Tryggvi Loðmundsson kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. In the 58th minute, Bjarnleifur Hallbjörnsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Todd Sheridan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Össur Aðalmundsson having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 64 minutes, Össur Aðalmundsson successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Brogan McFrancise charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Thomas McFrancise might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Össur Aðalmundsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vernd Grindavík's supporters rose to their feet, but Bjarnleifur Hallbjörnsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donn Todd breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Bjarnleifur Hallbjörnsson put it in 2-3 from a short distance just to the right of Donn Todd. Kilnacrew FC played a much better game than Vernd Grindavík and deserved their victory. The Vernd Grindavík players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
