Grant Fountain hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Dalvin Ingjaldsson from long distance, 25 minutes into the match, got Christopher Stapleton's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When Bjarnleifur Hallbjörnsson came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Vernd Grindavík fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bjarnleifur Hallbjörnsson couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Vernd Grindavík defense, Jon Dozier kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Össur Aðalmundsson. The Vernd Grindavík fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Össur Aðalmundsson should have stopped the shot. Milltown's Christopher Stapleton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dalvin Ingjaldsson in the 38th minute of play. Mikjáll Geislason hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. In the 42nd match minute, Vernd Grindavík was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teitur Ásþórsson to maneuver through the defense. Milltown's Christopher Stapleton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Milltown from getting a goal against them. Christopher Stapleton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dalvin Ingjaldsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Vernd Grindavík players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Milltown were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bjarnleifur Hallbjörnsson was the one to do the kick off. Christopher Stapleton came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by Vernd Grindavík's Bjarnleifur Hallbjörnsson. But to his dismay, Bjarnleifur Hallbjörnsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Össur Aðalmundsson was a little too slow when Zachery Hutchison got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 60th minute. The score was now 1-3. The audience was convinced that Bjarnleifur Hallbjörnsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Christopher Stapleton was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. Dalvin Ingjaldsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Christopher Stapleton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 67 minutes into the match, Milltown's goal looked a bit too open when Dalvin Ingjaldsson came free, but Christopher Stapleton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dalvin Ingjaldsson in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christopher Stapleton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vernd Grindavík's Bjarnleifur Hallbjörnsson got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Vernd Grindavík getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Berg Finnbjörnsson hit a great ball. 92 minutes into the match, Milltown's goal looked a bit too open when Bjarnleifur Hallbjörnsson came free, but Christopher Stapleton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Christopher Stapleton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dalvin Ingjaldsson in the 93rd minute of the match. Jon Dozier scored 2-4 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Össur Aðalmundsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Milltown's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
