If Tiaguinho Gavilanes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Javier Abin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacobo Casado in the 10th minute of the match. Dinei Pinheiro made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Tiaguinho Gavilanes sent off a good shot on target. Paulo Yurres short, quick shot in the 12thth minute got Dinei Pinheiro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The supporters of SeleSantos FC booed when ...Pingue S.C.... was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sébastien Gavilanes didn't get a good kick on the ball. SeleSantos FC's Dinei Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alessandro Gavilanes in the 14th minute of play. Javier Abin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacobo Casado in the 15th minute of play. In the 17th match minute, ...Pingue S.C.... was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Yurre to maneuver through the defense. Dinei Pinheiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santi Gavilanes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute, Paulo Yurre got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. But to his dismay, Paulo Yurre quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Santi Gavilanes got free with Dinei Pinheiro in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
In the 52nd minute Paulo Yurre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dinei Pinheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. ...Pingue S.C....'s Paulo Yurre managed to work through SeleSantos FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Paulo Yurre dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in.
