He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Rodrigo Lima. If Ricardinho Vianna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15th minute Joaquim Paredes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yuri da Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yuri da Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oliver Schütze in the 17th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Joaquim Paredes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Yuri da Cunha was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. After 33 minutes, Rubinho Chaves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Olivedos and the Machados FC V2 players grew even worse after the yellow card. Grzegorz Piesciuk hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute, one of Machados FC V2:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Machados FC V2. Machados FC V2:s Rodrigo Lima showed great skill when he stopped Cássio Ferraz:s penalty. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joaquim Paredes to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Machados FC V2's goal looked a bit too open when Abel de Godoi came free, but Rodrigo Lima reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Machados FC V2's Rodrigo Lima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel de Godoi in the 54th minute of play. In the 60th minute, Luís Novaes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rodrigo Lima came out of the goal and Abel de Godoi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abel de Godoi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rodrigo Lima read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Olivedos's Abel de Godoi got a free kick in the 85th minute. If Abel de Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
