Marjus Laçka took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diljan Dzaferi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jakov Bundev in the 26th minute of play forced Albania's goalkeeper Marjus Laçka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 29 minutes, Spase Kastrati successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Marjus Laçka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diljan Dzaferi, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. The Macedonia fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when Macedonia's Diljan Dzaferi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. In the 41st minute Deljan Nastevski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marjus Laçka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Albania's Marjus Laçka played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diljan Dzaferi in the 44th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Diljan Dzaferi made a kick off. Marjus Laçka made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Diljan Dzaferi sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 53 minutes, Jakov Bundev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Macedonia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jakov Bundev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marjus Laçka made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jakov Bundev in the 56th minute. Diljan Dzaferis short, quick shot in the 56thth minute got Marjus Laçka to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With his leg Marjus Laçka managed to avoid a goal in the 57thth minute, when Macedonia's Diljan Dzaferi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Marjus Dragoti kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Spase Kastrati showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nderim Pepo, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. 76 minutes into the match, Albania's goal looked a bit too open when Deljan Nastevski came free, but Marjus Laçka reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Macedonia's Gorjan Avramovski got a free kick in the 94th minute. Macedonia's Vuk Urgovski was substituted for Diljan Dzaferi. Macedonia made a substitution. Ivo Projkov replaced Baškim Sumulikovski. The supporters of Albania booed when Macedonia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position.
