Estudiantes de América's Marcos Ranolfo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Estudiantes de América from getting a goal against them. Marcos Ranolfo made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Luisinho Laguna sent off a good shot on target. Marcos Ranolfo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luisinho Laguna's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. El Gallo de Moron's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Teofilo Garrote in the 11th minute. The corner led El Gallo de Moron's Teofilo Garrote to fire away a dangerous shot which Marcos Ranolfo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Luisinho Laguna put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Marcos Ranolfo. Estudiantes de América's Saverio Iraitz quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Franco Ternero, made in the 20th minute of the game. Luisinho Laguna struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Marcos Ranolfo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Gallo de Moron. In the 25th minute, Aldo Rico hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Martin Cubillos kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, Kraig Fred ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nacho Gonzalez was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Nacho Gonzalez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kraig Fred in the 45th minute of the match.

In the 60th minute, Estudiantes de América's Kraig Fred dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Estudiantes de América made a substitution. Orlando Beltza replaced Kraig Fred. 65 minutes into the match, El Gallo de Moron's goal looked a bit too open when Concetto Trasatti came free, but Nacho Gonzalez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute Orlando Beltza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nacho Gonzalez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th minute Estudiantes de América were awarded a corner. Traian Blăniță went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Saverio Iraitz almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but El Gallo de Moron's Nacho Gonzalez did a great save. Korneliusz Miodek could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Nacho Gonzalez made a huge save. Marcos Ranolfo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luisinho Laguna, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Nacho Gonzalez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Concetto Trasatti in the 88th minute of play. Florencio Ermengol kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. When Concetto Trasatti came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Estudiantes de América fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Concetto Trasatti couldn't finish the play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Estudiantes de América walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
