The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ladislao Cordarius struck a weak shot in the 2nd minute. Georg Hagberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walter Carter, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michael Roebuck in the 14th minute of play forced Green Zombies's goalkeeper Cristinel Tomulescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Green Zombies's goal looked a bit too open when Nick Heesen came free, but Cristinel Tomulescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Michael Roebuck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Ágætis Byrjun booed when Green Zombies was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Venedikt Semenov didn't get a good kick on the ball. 92 minutes into the match, Ágætis Byrjun's goal looked a bit too open when Mihály Hidegkúti came free, but Georg Hagberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mihály Hidegkúti in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Georg Hagberg saved Ágætis Byrjun from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Green Zombies had won after a very even match.
