Doriva Prado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Waldemar Loyola in the 42nd minute of the match. Oscar Veiga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ulisses de Salles got his second yellow card in the match during the 46th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 47th minute, Ulisses de Salles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Matías Lima in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Doriva Prado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gil Seco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oscar Veiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dino Saraiva might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gil Seco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dino Saraiva ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, GLADIADORES's Enio Moraes got a free kick in the 67th minute. When the match clock showed 70 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Oscar Veiga sped through AF CERRADO's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gil Seco. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eliseu Senna got free with Doriva Prado in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
