Emílio Ceresso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sérgio de Azevedo having to make a save. When Walmir Lima fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored BMB IMOVEIS SC's protests and gave Walmir Lima a yellow card for diving instead. After 46 played minutes BMB IMOVEIS SC got a freekick which was hit by Walmir Lima. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Duta Setiawan to make the kick off.
