Devis Vasquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Maria Coutinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. James-David Rodriguez charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed James-David Rodriguez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Dragões de Campo Grande booed when San Marino Thm was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. James-David Rodriguez didn't get a good kick on the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Dragões de Campo Grande's Laércio Seco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Devis Vasquez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 20 minutes into the match, Dragões de Campo Grande's goal looked a bit too open when Egoi Zambranos came free, but Hugo Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mateus Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. In the 24th minute, Pedro Luiz Vaz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Devis Vasquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thomás Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The goalkeeper, Devis Vasquez, was totally fooled by Dragões de Campo Grande's José Silva, who 35 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Diogo Marines managed to get in a good position for a shot. San Marino Thm's supporters rose to their feet, but Diogo Marines was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hugo Santos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 41 minutes, Laércio Seco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dragões de Campo Grande and the San Marino Thm players grew even worse after the yellow card. Laércio Seco hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice moves Pedro Luiz Vaz could shoot a difficult shot in the 45th minute, which Devis Vasquez however easily saved by the left post. After 46 played minutes Dragões de Campo Grande got a freekick which was hit by Laércio Seco. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Thomás Montenegro made a kick off. Diogo Marines fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Santos having to interfere. Devis Vasquez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomás Montenegro in the 59th minute of play. Tallia Bocinos thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Devis Vasquez, a very annoying self made goal in the 61st minute which led to 2-0. During the 64th minute of the match Laércio Seco completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Laércio Seco a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 64th minute, Laércio Seco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Calixto Opacio during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Calixto Opacio kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Dragões de Campo Grande's Rafael Travassos got a free kick in the 69th minute. After having played for 70 minutes, Gizon Urive managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. San Marino Thm's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gizon Urive was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Diogo Marines's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hugo Santos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. The supporters of San Marino Thm booed when Dragões de Campo Grande was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Luiz Vaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Dragões de Campo Grande's zone, Diogo Marines stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hugo Santos came out of the goal and Diogo Marines tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Egoi Zambranos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Santos having to interfere.
