Juan Lebron started the match with the kick off. The throw-in from Stig-Arne Deckberg in the 3rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Borussia Dortmund MZB's David Fernandez. Michel Neuer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan Lebron, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Juan Lebron in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Michel Neuer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 13th minute Huang Fei Ting shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michel Neuer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Michel Neuer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Måns Sandberg in the 16th minute of the match. He Xiao Ao might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Safet Hands. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. He Xiao Ao ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 25th minute Måns Sandberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michel Neuer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Borussia Dortmund MZB's Michel Neuer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Lebron in the 28th minute of play. Michel Neuer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Lebron, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when He Xiao Ao got free with Safet Hands in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 37th minute, Måns Sandberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Michel Neuer was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Norrlands Athen were furious when Qian Jian Wei was red carded, 44 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 45th match minute, Norrlands Athen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Qian Jian Wei to maneuver through the defense. Safet Hands showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 杨攀 盛世 in the 47th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when He Xiao Ao stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Murilo Palmeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. He Xiao Ao blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Safet Hands having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Borussia Dortmund MZB's Murilo Palmeira got a free kick in the 58th minute. Michel Neuer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Måns Sandberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Safet Hands took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from He Xiao Ao, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Safet Hands made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from He Xiao Ao in the 62nd minute of play. In the 64th minute, He Xiao Ao ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Safet Hands was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Norrlands Athen's Calle Bergfelt was substituted for Wieslaw Wos. Borussia Dortmund MZB made a substitution. Liu Zhi replaced He Xiao Ao. Michel Neuer made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Gilbert Hermansson sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Koen Rosbach in the 76th minute of play forced Norrlands Athen's goalkeeper Safet Hands to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Calle Bergfelt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Norrlands Athen's Safet Hands played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedrão de Sousa in the 79th minute of play. A hard shot 85 in the game by Gilbert Hermansson from a close distance when the talented Michel Neuer managed to make a qualified save. Borussia Dortmund MZB's players were relieved. 88 minutes into the match, Liu Zhi notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Norrlands Athen's Safet Hands. Safet Hands was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 92 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund MZB's goalkeeper Michel Neuer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilbert Hermansson. After having played for 95 minutes, Calle Bergfelt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Norrlands Athen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Calle Bergfelt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Norrlands Athen players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Borussia Dortmund MZB.
