An unexpectedly hard shot by Johnny Raiola in the 16th minute of play forced De Boedo Vengo's goalkeeper Jon Hagström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jon Hagström was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the match clock showed 38 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Mick Racine sped through De Boedo Vengo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jon Hagström. 44 minutes into the match, Tarada's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Lluciano came free, but Cliff Gottschalk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 44th minute, Deniz Egger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The supporters of Tarada booed when De Boedo Vengo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emilio Rico didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79th minute, Deniz Egger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Johnny Raiola could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Jon Hagström made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marc Nuessli during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
