In the 10th match minute, Burriss was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Porter Reese to maneuver through the defense. Sakarias Berggren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ted Jansen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raymond Schouten struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Sakarias Berggren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for NFC Eagles 22. The Burriss fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sakarias Berggren should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Burriss getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. NFC Eagles 22's Ciccio Tacconi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Friday Sobota in the 45th minute of play. After 66 played minutes Burriss got a freekick which was hit by Merle Pendleton. 68 minutes into the match, Burriss's goal looked a bit too open when Raymond Schouten came free, but Sakarias Berggren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 72 minutes into the match, NFC Eagles 22's goal looked a bit too open when Dobrin Cormoran came free, but Ciccio Tacconi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 89th minute, when Burriss's Dobrin Cormoran after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Ciccio Tacconi in NFC Eagles 22's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. After a defensive mix-up in Burriss's zone, Raymond Schouten stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sakarias Berggren came out of the goal and Raymond Schouten tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The NFC Eagles 22 players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
