The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 4 minutes, Luciano Pirro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Racing Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luciano Pirro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Racing Club's Cornelio Cordearo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Racing Club from getting a goal against them. Through an outstanding action, after 14 minutes, Cornelio Cordearo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Krzysztof Gizynski got free with Cornelio Cordearo in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cornelio Cordearo made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Olgierd Szkaradek sent off a good shot on target. In the 24th minute of the match, Olgierd Szkaradek got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cornelio Cordearo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Piast Leszczyny's Krzysztof Gizynski slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cornelio Cordearo. That made the score 1-0 after 27 minutes of play. Cornelio Cordearo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dominik Barowicz, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Jaroslaw Szostak got a throw-in 36 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Beniamin Golembiewski. A collision led to Piast Leszczyny getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Jaroslaw Szostak hit a great ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Racing Club made a substitution. Homer Field replaced Miroslaw Jajecznica. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dominik Barowicz was the one to do the kick off. After 52 played minutes Piast Leszczyny got a freekick which was hit by Louis-Philippe Delcroix. Ryszard Golaszewski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luciano Pirro in the 55th minute of play. In the 57thth minute of the game Dominik Barowicz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Racing Club's Cornelio Cordearo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 58 minutes into the game, Ramiro Lano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Ryszard Golaszewski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cornelio Cordearo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cezary Trzemzalski in the 62nd minute of the match. Racing Club's Cornelio Cordearo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olgierd Szkaradek in the 64th minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, Racing Club's goal looked a bit too open when Krzysztof Gizynski came free, but Cornelio Cordearo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cornelio Cordearo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Krzysztof Gizynski in the 66th minute of play. Homer Field took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ryszard Golaszewski. Cornelio Cordearo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dominik Barowicz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Racing Club's goalie and right to Dominik Barowicz. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Racing Club's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Cornelio Cordearo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dominik Barowicz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
