The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Božo Dragišić stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Djamal Akrour's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. A collision led to KIFC getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Rodoljub Milosavac hit a great ball. Karim Diafat struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Božo Dragišić didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Valley Stream. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Djamal Akrour in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Božo Dragišić prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 23 played minutes KIFC got a freekick which was hit by Mladen Čonkić. If Frantz Daham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as KIFC's Janko Todić slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Amar Maillot. That made the score 1-2 after 28 minutes of play. In the 32nd minute Djamal Akrour shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Božo Dragišić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Valley Stream getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Sid Ahmed Belkheir hit a great ball. If Mladen Čonkić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Božo Dragišić showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Djamal Akrour, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Karim Diafat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Božo Dragišić having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mladen Čonkić to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 50th minute, Mouloud Khabatou hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Božo Dragišić made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Djamal Akrour in the 54th minute of play. In the 56th minute, Janko Todić had to leave the field with a concussion. 56 minutes into the game, Kamel Boudiaf was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Valley Stream's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KIFC the free kick. In the 57th minute, Kamel Boudiaf hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Djamal Akrour had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Djamal Akrour kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Mladen Čonkić received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Amar Maillot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Božo Dragišić showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karim Diafat, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. 67 minutes into the match, Valley Stream's goal looked a bit too open when Mladen Čonkić came free, but Amar Maillot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Karim Diafat hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. In the 71st match minute, KIFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Radojica Vesić to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to KIFC getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Rodoljub Milosavac hit a great ball. KIFC made a substitution. Ljuba Dragović replaced Milivoj Gogić. After 78 minutes of play, Valley Stream's Mehdi Al-Jazairia made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Božo Dragišić was left in no man's land by his defense there! Djamal Akrour received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Božo Dragišić came out and tried to block the shot, but Djamal Akrour slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 88th minute. If Djamal Akrour had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 92 minutes into the match, Stamenko Knežević had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Amar Maillot. Valley Stream's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stamenko Knežević was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-4. When the final whistle sounded Valley Stream left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than KIFC.
