After having played for 28 minutes, Héctor Mainer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Héctor Mainer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Héctor Mainer might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Petruț Dicu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Héctor Mainer ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Héctor Mainer in the 32nd minute of play forced Brujas KV's goalkeeper Petruț Dicu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jacobo Mendiko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Renato Portalupi, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. 40 minutes had been played when some careless play by ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Despite this Jacobo Mendiko quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a rather tough play, Brujas KV's Pablo Roso got a free kick in the 46th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Brujas KV's Conrado Romero was substituted for Torrey Molloy. Brujas KV made a substitution. Martin Mundo replaced Israel Otsando. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Codruț Domuță to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Héctor Mainer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Petruț Dicu. With an all-out effort, ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ's Petruț Dicu threw himself towards the right post 69 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Göktan Akıncıbey, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Selami Bilgen kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. ᴀᴄʜᴛᴜɴɢ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴾᴵᴬᴿᴬ were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Brujas KV's much stronger midfield.
