Héctor Mainer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Nestor Cortez made a huge save. Héctor Mainer might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nestor Cortez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Héctor Mainer ran back to his position shaking his head. 30 minutes into the match, Lobos de Carelia's goal looked a bit too open when Héctor Mainer came free, but Nestor Cortez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nestor Cortez was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Héctor Mainer showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 42 minute of play.
