In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper August Hoffmanns, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. August Hoffmanns took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabi Gol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Gabi Gol's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but August Hoffmanns was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. In the 16th minute, Maximilian Henning hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Octavian Basten in the 19th minute of play forced América-SC F.C.'s goalkeeper Nestor Quirino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the last second Nestor Quirino throw himself and got hold of the ball when Mesut Özil in the 20thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Gabi Gol put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of August Hoffmanns. In the 27thth minute of the game Octavian Basten who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but América-SC F.C.'s Nestor Quirino was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 33 minutes into the game, América-SC F.C.'s Gabi Gol nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. August Hoffmanns made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. If Octavian Basten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 39th minute, Flavio Canal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Rot-Weiss-Essen getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Kryspin Banach hit a great ball. Gabi Gol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 43 minutes into the match, Rot-Weiss-Essen's goal looked a bit too open when Gabi Gol came free, but August Hoffmanns reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nestor Quirino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mesut Özil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Rot-Weiss-Essen players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. América-SC F.C. were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Octavian Basten stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, América-SC F.C.'s Gabi Gol nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. If Anestis Kotsopoulos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erasmo dos Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without August Hoffmanns having to interfere. Nestor Quirino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Haupt, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Nestor Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anestis Kotsopoulos in the 66th minute of play. América-SC F.C.'s Nestor Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anestis Kotsopoulos in the 77th minute of play. August Hoffmanns showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kobe Haaland, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kobe Haaland got free with August Hoffmanns in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hakem Al Khames made in the 85th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by América-SC F.C.'s Joaquim Branco. Nestor Quirino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximilian Henning, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. After 90 minutes of play, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Hugo Haupt made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nestor Quirino was left in no man's land by his defense there! August Hoffmanns took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kobe Haaland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. América-SC F.C. had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
