In the 7th minute, Tuncay Şanlı hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stasio Bienienda in the 8th minute of play forced Edson Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Paul Christini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Edson Futebol Clube's Tuncay Şanlı got a free kick in the 9th minute. Paul Christini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stasio Bienienda in the 10th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Stasio Bienienda notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Edson Futebol Clube's Paul Christini. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lucas Hulk got free with Ivan Chiuzbaian in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ivan Chiuzbaian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucas Hulk in the 16th minute of the match. After 19 minutes Edson Futebol Clube's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Stasio Bienienda who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Emil Wielopolski to fire away a dangerous shot which Paul Christini despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 23rd minute Edson Futebol Clube were awarded a corner. Tao Xing Yong went to the cornerflag to take it. Edson Futebol Clube's Tao Xing Yong was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ivan Chiuzbaian in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Ernesto Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th minute, Primitivo Grau made a precise shot to the right of Paul Christini. Edson Futebol Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Ivan Chiuzbaian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Panos Karkantos in the 33rd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zhao Sen Yang in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paul Christini saved Edson Futebol Clube from getting behind. Paul Christini dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Paul Christini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zhao Sen Yang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Paul Christini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zhao Sen Yang in the 51st minute of play. 53 minutes into the match, Edson Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Zhao Sen Yang came free, but Paul Christini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Ivan Chiuzbaian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Heleno de Freitas in the 67th minute of play. Panos Karkantos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ivan Chiuzbaian having to make a save. Ivan Chiuzbaian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucas Hulk in the 86th minute of the match. In the 93rd minute, Emil Wielopolski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edson Futebol Clube's Paul Christini proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Edson Futebol Clube from getting a goal against them.
The Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
