After a defensive mix-up in Cityzens Mdz's zone, Quentin Platt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Melkior Thorslev came out of the goal and Quentin Platt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Damaso Lain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Cityzens Mdz fans' excitement grew in the 15th match minute when Cityzens Mdz's Damaso Lain looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Giandomenico Sella was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 18 minutes into the match. Cityzens Mdz's Bruno Kaiet was substituted for Johan Carbonero. In the 18th minute, one of Cityzens Mdz:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cityzens Mdz. The referee gave Bacardi Black Bats a penalty, 21 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Horaţiu Bacalbașa, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Cityzens Mdz's Melkior Thorslev. 1-1. Damaso Lain came free with the goalkeeper in the 25th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Artur Brudzisz could save by the left post. 27 minutes into the match, Cityzens Mdz's goal looked a bit too open when Horaţiu Bacalbașa came free, but Melkior Thorslev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Damaso Lain's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 29thth minute, Artur Brudzisz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 30 played minutes Bacardi Black Bats got a freekick which was hit by Cristóvão França. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Damaso Lain took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Artur Brudzisz to make any attempt to save it. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bacardi Black Bats's goalkeeper Artur Brudzisz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Melkior Thorslev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wojciech Grunwalski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After taking down the ball on Bacardi Black Bats's corner Hermenegildo Rebelo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Melkior Thorslev quite easily take care of the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Horaţiu Bacalbașa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Damaso Lain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur Brudzisz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A throw-in in the 53rd minute of the game was made by Jimmy Zambata with Lukasz Marut as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Artur Brudzisz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damaso Lain in the 56th minute of the match. In the 60th minute, Damaso Lain ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Artur Brudzisz was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. A collision led to Bacardi Black Bats getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Cristóvão França hit a great ball. Bacardi Black Bats's Alexandre Mourinho was substituted for Cristóvão França. Germano Rosado replaced Quentin Platt. 72 minutes into the match, Bacardi Black Bats's goal looked a bit too open when Damaso Lain came free, but Artur Brudzisz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Horaţiu Bacalbașa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Melkior Thorslev made a huge save. Artur Brudzisz came out of the goal and Damaso Lain tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
