The coaching staff of Suleskard protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Kenneth Hanssen had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 28th minute, one of Suleskard:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Suleskard. Ådne Østvang had in the 30thth minute some difficulties stopping Nicolás Valentini's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Ådne Østvang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edinson Cavani in the 31st minute of play. Fred Tofte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Amadeo Jatsu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edinson Cavani hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute Abuba Akotonon FC were awarded a corner. Nicolás Valentini went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Suleskard's goalie and right to Aarón Anselmino. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Suleskard's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 44th minute Fred Tofte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeo Jatsu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 64 played minutes Abuba Akotonon FC got a freekick which was hit by Blas-Armando Giunta. The supporters of Suleskard booed when Abuba Akotonon FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blas-Armando Giunta didn't get a good kick on the ball. None of the players looked happy at the prospect of extra-time.
