Juan Carlos Alvarez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ubaldo Gelacio in the 19th minute of the match. Gianluca Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fermin Arixo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Marlin FC defense, Bruno Sauveur kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Juan Carlos Alvarez. The Marlin FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Juan Carlos Alvarez should have stopped the shot. A sloppy throw-in by Lionel-Andrés Messi in the 26th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Marlin FC's Aybek Orcun. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dionisio Panpili in the 27th minute of play forced Defensores de Lombroso's goalkeeper Gianluca Buffon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gianluca Buffon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 39th minute of the match Marlin FC got a corner. Defensores de Lombroso's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ismael Iglesias ran over to the corner to take the kick. Gianluca Buffon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fermin Arixo in the 43rd minute of play. Marlin FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ismael Iglesias in the 44th minute. The wind increased when Bruno Sauveur made the kick off in the second half. Marlin FC's Giovanni Rana quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Lionel-Andrés Messi, made in the 54th minute of the game. If Lionel-Andrés Messi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fermin Arixo in the 59thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. The Defensores de Lombroso fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-4.
