The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Everardo Ganix took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Heigo Luiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 6 minutes of play, C.A.Independiente's Cristo Basajaun made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Everardo Ganix was left in no man's land by his defense there! 10 minutes into the match, C.A.Independiente's Cristo Basajaun sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Everardo Ganix narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 11 minutes into the game, Amancio Matteo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Racing Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C.A.Independiente the free kick. A collision led to Racing Club getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Amancio Matteo hit a great ball. In the 12th minute, Cristo Basajaun ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Everardo Ganix was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Cristo Basajaun scored 0-4 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Everardo Ganix, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 22 minutes into the match, Cristo Basajaun had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Everardo Ganix. Racing Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristo Basajaun was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. In the 25th minute Gavril Bosioc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Everardo Ganix saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Cristo Basajaun managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.A.Independiente's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristo Basajaun was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Everardo Ganix breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristo Basajaun scored 0-6 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Everardo Ganix, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Racing Club's Everardo Ganix played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristo Basajaun in the 54th minute of play. Racing Club's defense didn't have a chance, in the 56th minute, when Heigo Luiga scored to the left of an out of position Everardo Ganix, making the score, 0-12. In the 60th minute, C.A.Independiente's Nereo Frederico dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-13. Racing Club's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Heigo Luiga 63 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-14. Everardo Ganix was out of position in the 69 minute of play, and Gavril Bosioc capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gavril Bosioc really showed his touch with that goal: 0-15. After a rather tough play, Racing Club's Elias Mendebal got a free kick in the 75th minute. Everardo Ganix showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristo Basajaun in the 77th minute of the match. After 78 minutes of play, C.A.Independiente's Heigo Luiga made it 0-16 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Everardo Ganix was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Øyvind Rovik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Everardo Ganix made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Cristo Basajaun sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Racing Club getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Anselmo Ferdinand hit a great ball. Everardo Ganix came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by C.A.Independiente's Cristo Basajaun. But to his dismay, Cristo Basajaun quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-17. The C.A.Independiente fans' excitement grew in the 96th match minute when C.A.Independiente's Cristo Basajaun looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-18 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The Racing Club fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. C.A.Independiente were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
