After 3rd play minutes Emil Berntzen shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Manuel Campens and just under the crossbar into goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mbaka Mbolu in the 6th minute of play forced Norway's goalkeeper Pål Bergmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Norway's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Kokki Mon in the 11th minute. A throw-in in the 14th minute of the game was made by Truls Roll with Emil Berntzen as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Norway's goalkeeper Pål Bergmann, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 21st minute, Robby Van Steen had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Truls Roll during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Truls Roll hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. 24 minutes into the match, Belgium's Mbaka Mbolu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pål Bergmann narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mbaka Mbolu in the 32nd minute of play forced Norway's goalkeeper Pål Bergmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pål Bergmann made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Mbaka Mbolu sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Grøtterud in the 36th minute of play forced Belgium's goalkeeper Manuel Campens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mbaka Mbolu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ferdinand Tvete got free with Manuel Campens in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 57th minute Mbaka Mbolu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pål Bergmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Belgium's Manuel Campens got control of the ball when Emil Berntzen tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 64th minute, Ferdinand Tvete hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Belgium made a substitution. Leopold Van den Paenhuysen replaced Niels Vandamme. A collision led to Norway getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Ferdinand Tvete hit a great ball. After 67 minutes of play, Belgium's Mbaka Mbolu made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pål Bergmann was left in no man's land by his defense there! 79 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Marius Neset came free, but Manuel Campens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mbaka Mbolu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pål Bergmann read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. Pål Bergmann came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Belgium's Mbaka Mbolu. But to his dismay, Mbaka Mbolu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Mbaka Mbolu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pål Bergmann having to make a save. Norway's Pål Bergmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mbaka Mbolu in the 86th minute of play. After 90 played minutes Norway got a freekick which was hit by Rocky Ryland. Pål Bergmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mbaka Mbolu in the 95th minute of play. Belgium's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
