The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With his leg Vânderson Esteves managed to avoid a goal in the 10thth minute, when Braga Junior FC's José Vítor Aparecido fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Braga Junior FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Emilio Lain in the 15th minute. The corner led to Braga Junior FC's Alfredinho Botelho getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Silvinho Veiga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustavo Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 18 played minutes Braga Junior FC got a freekick which was hit by Alfredinho Botelho. In the 22nd minute, José Vítor Aparecido ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vânderson Esteves was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Silvinho Veiga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Lobo Guará's Vânderson Esteves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Vítor Aparecido in the 52nd minute of play. Claudinei Tande kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Vânderson Esteves didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emilio Lain went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Vânderson Esteves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of José Vítor Aparecido's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. If José Vítor Aparecido had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Vânderson Esteves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Vítor Aparecido, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Lobo Guará made a substitution. Artur Branco replaced Albertinho Leite. Lobo Guará's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
