The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the game, Timoteo Aragones cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Benedicto Ramos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Timoteo Aragones took the ball and in the 7 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benedicto Ramos. Benedicto Ramos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. When Rodrigo Nevada came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Sumamao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodrigo Nevada couldn't finish the play. Jedi Knights's Zeledon Lordi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Jedi Knights from getting a goal against them. After 15 played minutes Jedi Knights got a freekick which was hit by Maximiliano Naike. After 19 minutes, Esteve Loren mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jedi Knights and the Sumamao players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 18 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Jedi Knights! Nicasio Dino walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Tiburcio Montez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Timoteo Aragones during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Timoteo Aragones hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Sergio Sasoin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Zeledon Lordi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 31 minutes into the match, Sergio Sasoin notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Jedi Knights's Zeledon Lordi. Zeledon Lordi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Zeledon Lordi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sergio Sasoin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carolo Oro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeledon Lordi having to interfere. After 39 minutes, Mariano Evis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jedi Knights and the Sumamao players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mariano Evis kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. In the 41st minute, Rodrigo Nevada fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When Cornelio Serafo fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sumamao's protests and gave Cornelio Serafo a yellow card for diving instead. Rodrigo Nevada might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zeledon Lordi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rodrigo Nevada ran back to his position shaking his head. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rodrigo Nevada was the one to do the kick off. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Sergio Sasoin put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Zeledon Lordi. Carolo Oro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jimeno Ostargi took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benedicto Ramos. Benedicto Ramos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Timoteo Aragones in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benedicto Ramos saved Sumamao from getting behind. In the 68th minute, Mariano Evis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zeledon Lordi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sergio Sasoin, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. A collision led to Jedi Knights getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Timoteo Aragones hit a great ball. In the 80th minute Rodrigo Nevada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeledon Lordi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 82nd minute of the match Sumamao got a corner. Jedi Knights's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nicasio Dino ran over to the corner to take the kick. Sumamao's Rolando Iraitz was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Zeledon Lordi in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Zeledon Lordi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodrigo Nevada in the 83rd minute of the match. In the 84th minute, Esteve Loren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 85 minutes into the game, Tiburcio Montez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jedi Knights's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sumamao the free kick. The supporters of Sumamao booed when Jedi Knights was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiburcio Montez didn't get a good kick on the ball. 89 minutes into the match, Sergio Sasoin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zeledon Lordi. Jedi Knights's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sergio Sasoin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-3. When Leo Txomin fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jedi Knights's protests and gave Leo Txomin a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Jedi Knights getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Martin Ignazio hit a great ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Sumamao had played much better football throughout.
