Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) FC Grivata's Eero Grönholm started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute of the match, Saturnino Ibañez got a very nice opportunity to score, but Thomas Sørensen was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The supporters of Cetatea Suceava booed when FC Grivata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Dino didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Gigi Neacșu put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Thomas Sørensen. In the 14thth minute of the game Trendafil Tashevski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cetatea Suceava's Liviu Aldulescu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thomas Sørensen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gigi Neacșu's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Liviu Aldulescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trendafil Tashevski, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 22 minutes into the game, FC Grivata's Eero Grönholm nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Liviu Aldulescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. FC Grivata's Thomas Sørensen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save FC Grivata from getting a goal against them. Thomas Sørensen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gigi Neacșu's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. Thomas Sørensen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gigi Neacșu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thomas Sørensen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Saturnino Ibañez went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Cetatea Suceava's Liviu Aldulescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eero Grönholm in the 35th minute of play. FC Grivata were awarded a corner in the 36th minute after Cetatea Suceava's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Kristian Brolin took the corner. After taking down the ball on FC Grivata's corner Kristian Brolin fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Liviu Aldulescu quite easily take care of the ball. Liviu Aldulescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eero Grönholm, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. In the 41st minute, Cristiano Ronaldinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gigi Neacșu made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saturnino Ibañez in the 50th minute of play forced FC Grivata's goalkeeper Thomas Sørensen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Liviu Aldulescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eero Grönholm in the 54th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Gigi Neacșu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cetatea Suceava's supporters rose to their feet, but Gigi Neacșu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thomas Sørensen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thomas Sørensen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gigi Neacșu's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. In the 62nd minute, Gigi Neacșu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thomas Sørensen was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. 66 minutes into the match, FC Grivata's goal looked a bit too open when Gigi Neacșu came free, but Thomas Sørensen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thomas Sørensen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gigi Neacșu in the 67th minute of play. Liviu Aldulescu came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Grivata's Patryk Janiczek. But to his dismay, Patryk Janiczek quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Liviu Aldulescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonio Dino in the 73rd minute of play. After 79 minutes Cetatea Suceava's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Kristian Brolin who took care of the corner kick. The corner led FC Grivata's Slavey Kozovski to fire away a dangerous shot which Liviu Aldulescu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Liviu Aldulescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trendafil Tashevski in the 83rd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Gigi Neacșu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thomas Sørensen was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game.
