Martin Markusson came out of the goal and Nando de Alcântara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Folke Österlund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diogo Yurin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dudu Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Markusson having to interfere. Folke Österlund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dallas Seymour in the 30th minute of the match. Martin Markusson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nando de Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. In the 36th minute of the match Catugi FC got a corner. New England Minas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. New England Minas's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Diogo Yurin took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Folke Österlund. Folke Österlund dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Folke Österlund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diogo Yurin in the 47th minute of the match. The Catugi FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. New England Minas were winning 1-4.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Chris Cabezon made a kick off. 61 minutes into the match, New England Minas's goal looked a bit too open when Nando de Alcântara came free, but Martin Markusson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, Catugi FC's Nando de Alcântara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Martin Markusson narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
