After some careless play in the Catugi FC defense, Oliverios Marcilla kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Folke Österlund. The Catugi FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Folke Österlund should have stopped the shot. 19 minutes into the match, Oliverios Marcilla had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Folke Österlund. Catugi FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Oliverios Marcilla was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Aílton Domingues charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aílton Domingues the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 22 played minutes Catugi FC got a freekick which was hit by Aílton Domingues. Oliverios Marcilla scored 0-4 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Folke Österlund, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Catugi FC's Folke Österlund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Paulo Viana in the 29th minute of play. After 30 played minutes Catugi FC got a freekick which was hit by Hernani Travassos. Folke Österlund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliverios Marcilla, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. 36 minutes into the match, Catugi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kristóf Földes came free, but Folke Österlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Folke Österlund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ahmet Danış Garipbaş, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Marcel Travassos was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 41 minutes into the match. Marcel Travassos kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. After 43 played minutes Dogelo got a freekick which was hit by Justino Dabi. After the first half Dogelo were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nando de Alcântara was the one to do the kick off. Lico Catarinense blasted a shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Folke Österlund having to make a save. Manúel Bento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nando de Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Kristóf Földes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Folke Österlund was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Oliverios Marcilla received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Oliverios Marcilla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Dogelo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
