Pindorama's Luís Fernando Cavalcante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Catarinense in the 11th minute of play. Luís Fernando Cavalcante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Catarinense, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Wilfredo Cefero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fernando Cavalcante having to interfere. Galo do Japi's Delfim Chaves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Galo do Japi from getting a goal against them. Delfim Chaves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gong Xiong Fan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fernandinho Botelho hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Gong Xiong Fan kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Delfim Chaves. That made the score 1-1 in the 25 minute of play. Luís Fernando Cavalcante didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joel Catarinense went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Pindorama's goalkeeper Luís Fernando Cavalcante, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A throw-in in the 32nd minute of the game was made by Tião Lago with Gong Xiong Fan as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Galo do Japi's Gernando Gomes managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Tião Lago in the 33 minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Pindorama's zone, Dagoberto Tande stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Fernando Cavalcante came out of the goal and Dagoberto Tande tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joel Catarinense took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luís Fernando Cavalcante. Luís Fernando Cavalcante dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. 46 minutes into the game, Galo do Japi's Wilfredo Cefero nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luís Fernando Cavalcante made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wilfredo Cefero made a kick off. In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind Pindorama's goalkeeper Luís Fernando Cavalcante, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Galo do Japi's Joel Catarinense in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pindorama's goalie prevented a goal. 54 minutes into the game, Tião Lago threw the ball into play from the sideline. Galo do Japi's Gernando Gomes quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 55 minutes into the match, Joel Catarinense had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luís Fernando Cavalcante. Pindorama's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joel Catarinense was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. Luís Fernando Cavalcante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Catarinense in the 58th minute of play. Wilfredo Cefero could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Luís Fernando Cavalcante made a huge save. Delfim Chaves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cafu Martins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 62 minutes into the match, Joel Catarinense had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luís Fernando Cavalcante. Pindorama's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joel Catarinense was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-6. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joel Catarinense in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luís Fernando Cavalcante prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronaldo Joinvilense in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luís Fernando Cavalcante saved Pindorama from getting behind. After 76 minutes, Agnaldo Massa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pindorama and the Galo do Japi players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Galo do Japi booed when Pindorama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agnaldo Massa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Galo do Japi's Ronaldo Joinvilense got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 82nd minute, Ronaldo Joinvilense reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Luís Fernando Cavalcante. The goal made the score 1-8. 85 minutes into the match, Ronaldo Joinvilense had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luís Fernando Cavalcante. Pindorama's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ronaldo Joinvilense was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-9. After 88 minutes, Wilfredo Cefero made it 1-10 with a short kick to the right side. Pindorama's Luís Fernando Cavalcante tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 91 played minutes Ronaldo Joinvilense could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 1-11 into the left cross. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Galo do Japi had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
