Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joel Catarinense in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wilian Guimarães prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Galo do Japi fans' excitement grew in the 7th match minute when Galo do Japi's Joel Catarinense looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 11 minutes into the match, LauerArmy's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Catarinense came free, but Wilian Guimarães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 12 minutes LauerArmy's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Falcão Duarte who took care of the corner kick. Wilian Guimarães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Catarinense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 16 minutes into the match, Galo do Japi's Joel Catarinense sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilian Guimarães narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The corner led Galo do Japi's Joel Catarinense to a score. 0-2 in the 18th minute. A throw-in in the 22nd minute of the game was made by Giuseppe Neto with Angelo Teixeira as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After some careless play in the LauerArmy defense, Wilfredo Cefero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilian Guimarães. The LauerArmy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilian Guimarães should have stopped the shot. Galo do Japi's Gernando Gomes quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Giuseppe Neto, made in the 29th minute of the game. Wilian Guimarães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Catarinense in the 32nd minute of the match. A throw-in in the 38th minute of the game was made by Giuseppe Neto with Romeu Prado as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. A collision led to Galo do Japi getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Zé Paulo Rossi hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as LauerArmy's Romeu Prado slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Delfim Chaves. That made the score 1-3 after 42 minutes of play. After having played for 48 minutes, Wilfredo Cefero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galo do Japi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilfredo Cefero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half Galo do Japi were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When Joel Catarinense came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Galo do Japi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Catarinense couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, LauerArmy's Aílton Campidelis got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 59th minute, Joel Catarinense left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Galo do Japi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. 63 minutes into the match, LauerArmy's James Rodriguez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Delfim Chaves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Giuseppe Mazza made in the 64th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Paulo Renato Valladares immediately put the ball in play. Wilian Guimarães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Catarinense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wilian Guimarães was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Joel Catarinense showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-5 in the 73 minute of play. The supporters of Galo do Japi booed when LauerArmy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rony Ramalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 84th minute of the match, Wilfredo Cefero got a very nice opportunity to score, but Wilian Guimarães was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 87th minute, Wilfredo Cefero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Delfim Chaves didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from James Rodriguez went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-5 was the resulting score. A sloppy throw-in by Giuseppe Mazza in the 93rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Galo do Japi's Gernando Gomes.
