After 4 minutes of play, Deportivo Balvanera's Omar Fliz made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Enrique Urtsin was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 9 minutes, Omar Fliz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Balvanera's supporters crossed their fingers, but Omar Fliz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Florencio Paz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Enrique Urtsin made a huge save. Santiago Sosa hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 14th minute, Teo Oinatz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damaso Playo in the 15th minute of play forced Deportivo Balvanera's goalkeeper Teodosio Urtats to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damaso Playo hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Enrique Urtsin acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 20th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Bonifacio Petrigai. In the 24th minute, Emilio Serafo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Enrique Urtsin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rene Restu in the 26th minute of the match. Ernesto Argoitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Enrique Urtsin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 32nd match minute, Vélez Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sergio Gai to maneuver through the defense. Santiago Sosa shot from long distance in the 33rd minute, but Enrique Urtsin was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. When Omar Fliz came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Deportivo Balvanera fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Omar Fliz couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Vélez Juniors booed when Deportivo Balvanera was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teo Oinatz didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

After 54 played minutes Deportivo Balvanera got a freekick which was hit by Teo Oinatz. In the 57thth minute of the game Santiago Sosa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vélez Juniors's Enrique Urtsin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Vélez Juniors getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Damaso Playo hit a great ball. In the 59th minute, Silvio Firme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Deportivo Balvanera's Santiago Sosa couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 60th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Vélez Juniors. Deportivo Balvanera made a substitution. Agustin Almendra replaced Ramiro Quin. Enrique Urtsin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rene Restu in the 62nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Ernesto Argoitz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Balvanera's supporters rose to their feet, but Ernesto Argoitz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enrique Urtsin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Santiago Sosa hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Teodosio Urtats was out of position in the 70 minute of play, and Fidel Pietro capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Fidel Pietro really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Enrique Urtsin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Santiago Sosa went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 77th minute Agustin Almendra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Urtsin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Deportivo Balvanera were furious when Bonifacio Petrigai was red carded, 80 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 81st minute, Bonifacio Petrigai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Agustin Almendra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Urtsin having to interfere. Silvio Firme hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. In the 88th minute, Omar Fliz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deportivo Balvanera fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Santiago Sosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Enrique Urtsin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Romeo Gaztea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Romeo Gaztea managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Balvanera's supporters rose to their feet, but Romeo Gaztea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enrique Urtsin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Deportivo Balvanera's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
