Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Eliseo Illan got the match started through his kick off. In the 3rd minute, Angelino Ado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 16 minutes, Eliseo Illan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the La Gallardeta and the ATLETICO MENDOZA players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eliseo Illan hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. La Gallardeta's Jaime Nafarroa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arturo Pirro in the 18th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arturo Pirro got free with Jaime Nafarroa in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Narciso Matteo kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Jaime Nafarroa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arturo Pirro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arturo Pirro in the 29th minute of play forced La Gallardeta's goalkeeper Jaime Nafarroa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Hector Ferran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 33 played minutes La Gallardeta got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Illan. Hector Ferran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jaime Nafarroa having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Efrain Aritza managed to get in a good position for a shot. ATLETICO MENDOZA's supporters rose to their feet, but Efrain Aritza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jaime Nafarroa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 44 minutes of play, ATLETICO MENDOZA's Arturo Pirro made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jaime Nafarroa was left in no man's land by his defense there! No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arturo Pirro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hector Ferran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Jaime Nafarroa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jaime Nafarroa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arturo Pirro in the 63rd minute of the match. ATLETICO MENDOZA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Efrain Aritza in the 64th minute. 69 minutes into the game, Gogo Alonso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. La Gallardeta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ATLETICO MENDOZA the free kick. In the 69th match minute, La Gallardeta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gogo Alonso to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to ATLETICO MENDOZA getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Hector Ferran hit a great ball. In the 73rd minute, Arturo Pirro made a precise shot to the right of Jaime Nafarroa. La Gallardeta's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. In the 77th minute, Arturo Pirro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 82 played minutes La Gallardeta got a freekick which was hit by Sebastian Edur. After a defensive mix-up in ATLETICO MENDOZA's zone, Eliseo Illan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Celio came out of the goal and Eliseo Illan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
