Fausto Benino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Uriel Oro, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Esteve Orlandus managed to get in a good position for a shot. ATLETICO MENDOZA's supporters rose to their feet, but Esteve Orlandus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Matias Gauargi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Uriel Oro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arturo Pirro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Matias Gauargi came out and tried to block the shot, but Arturo Pirro slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 32nd minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 41 minutes into the game, when Lisandro Tiniebra put in a rough tackle. Lisandro Tiniebra hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 57th minute Amador Bermudez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matias Gauargi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 59 minutes into the match, ATLETICO MENDOZA's goalkeeper Fausto Benino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Melquiades Ritchie. In the 65th minute, Arturo Pirro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ATLETICO MENDOZA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. The supporters of ATLETICO MENDOZA booed when Desfachatados F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Narciso Pudes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Desfachatados F.C.'s Matias Gauargi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arturo Pirro in the 92nd minute of play. Matias Gauargi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Arturo Pirro went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. ATLETICO MENDOZA fully deserved thier win.
