The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 9 played minutes Soroca F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Samuel Adams. In the 12th minute, Dario Solustiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fausto Benino didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Faustino Weterio went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. When Anibal Goizeder fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Soroca F.C.'s protests and gave Anibal Goizeder a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of ATLETICO MENDOZA booed when Soroca F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anibal Goizeder didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Esteve Orlandus during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 19th match minute, ATLETICO MENDOZA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Esteve Orlandus to maneuver through the defense. Anastasio Bittor hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind ATLETICO MENDOZA's goalkeeper Fausto Benino, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 26 minutes into the game, Soroca F.C.'s Faustino Weterio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fausto Benino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Fausto Benino came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Soroca F.C.'s Faustino Weterio. But to his dismay, Faustino Weterio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. When Faustino Weterio came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Soroca F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Faustino Weterio couldn't finish the play. After 37 played minutes Soroca F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Faustino Weterio. Fausto Benino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Faustino Weterio in the 46th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Faustino Weterio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fausto Benino was a little too slow when Faustino Weterio got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 52nd minute. The score was now 0-5. 62 minutes into the game, Faustino Weterio recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Fausto Benino. Faustino Weterio showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-7. Gaston Ubarna hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. 70 minutes into the match, Soroca F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Anastasio Bittor came free, but Eustacio Socorro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. ATLETICO MENDOZA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Efrain Aritza in the 71st minute. A nice corner shot did that Efrain Aritza got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Eustacio Socorro quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a rather tough play, ATLETICO MENDOZA's Conrado Karlo got a free kick in the 74th minute. Fausto Benino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaston Ubarna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Faustino Weterio kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Faustino Weterio in the 90th minute of play forced ATLETICO MENDOZA's goalkeeper Fausto Benino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arturo Pirro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Soroca F.C.'s fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
