In the 18th minute David Cearense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Johan Ahlqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. D.J. Gol scored 1-0 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jeremias Ledesma, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Karl-Johan Ahlqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Cearense, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. The supporters of Black Rose 1979 booed when Chimborazo A.F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zeledon Behe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chimborazo A.F.C's Jeremias Ledesma played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by D.J. Gol in the 29th minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Napoleon Wolnik hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 34 minutes into the game Sebastian Enekoitz kicked a great long shot which passed Jeremias Ledesma straight ahead into the goal, Result 2-0. One couldn't see Sebastian Enekoitz behind all of his teammates who surrounded to congratulate him. The Chimborazo A.F.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. 48 minutes into the game, Chimborazo A.F.C's Ernesto Pacifico nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Karl-Johan Ahlqvist made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The audience was convinced that Ernesto Pacifico's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Karl-Johan Ahlqvist was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Jeremias Ledesma was left in no man's land by his defense there! There was no doubt that Black Rose 1979 were the better team. Black Rose 1979's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
