The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlos Aimar got free with Carlos Navarro Montoya in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gabriel-Omar Santirso in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Clemente Benvido prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Faustino Egoi fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Canalla Fuego's protests and gave Faustino Egoi a yellow card for diving instead. After 14 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Canalla Fuego! Canalla Fuego:s Clemente Benvido showed great skill when he stopped Gervasio Unax:s penalty. 16 minutes into the match, Gervasio Unax notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Canalla Fuego's Clemente Benvido. Clemente Benvido was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the match clock showed 18 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Gabriel-Omar Santirso sped through Canalla Fuego's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Clemente Benvido. Arroyito FC's Carlos Navarro Montoya played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricky Kalischer in the 74th minute of play. After some careless play in the Arroyito FC defense, Aristides Villanueva kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlos Navarro Montoya. The Arroyito FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlos Navarro Montoya should have stopped the shot. 79 minutes into the match, Canalla Fuego's goalkeeper Clemente Benvido had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Miroslav Kvita.
