After 21 played minutes Serafim Catranides rounded Racing Club's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Francisco Raymond made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfonso Gilabert in the 28th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gavino Hitz in the 32nd minute of play forced Defensores del Ángel Gris's goalkeeper Uriel Chorche to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Alifonso Irureta came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Defensores del Ángel Gris fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alifonso Irureta couldn't finish the play. Sven-Edvin Dalgren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Uriel Chorche having to interfere. After some careless play in the Defensores del Ángel Gris defense, Gavino Hitz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Uriel Chorche. The Defensores del Ángel Gris fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Uriel Chorche should have stopped the shot. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alfonso Gilabert stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Alfonso Gilabert managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Defensores del Ángel Gris's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfonso Gilabert was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alfonso Gilabert blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Francisco Raymond having to make a save. Marco Nisio helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Racing Club's Marco Nisio got a free kick in the 63rd minute. In the 65th minute Bernard Ochabski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Raymond saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sven-Edvin Dalgren in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Uriel Chorche saved Defensores del Ángel Gris from getting behind. 83 minutes into the game, Alfonso Gilabert was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Defensores del Ángel Gris's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Racing Club the free kick. After a rather tough play, Defensores del Ángel Gris's Alfonso Gilabert got a free kick in the 83rd minute. If Gavino Hitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francisco Raymond took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso Gilabert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Defensores del Ángel Gris fully deserved thier win.
