Mo Yi Sang could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Ryszard Kaczanek made a huge save. Jan Wallman hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 37th minute Oliver Bierhoff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matias Carlomagno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mo Yi Sang received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Ryszard Kaczanek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th match minute, Boca Juniors fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Constantino Remicio to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Oliver Bierhoff was the one to do the kick off. Ernesto Abella charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ernesto Abella the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of San Lorenzo booed when Boca Juniors fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernesto Abella didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, San Lorenzo's Osvaldo Llorienzo got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Ke Lin Mo hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Ryszard Kaczanek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mo Yi Sang in the 70th minute of the match. Ryszard Kaczanek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mo Yi Sang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Mo Yi Sang's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ryszard Kaczanek was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. San Lorenzo had played much better football throughout.
