In the 3rd minute, Raphael Hoersch ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Trần Khoi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Phan Duc during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 6th minute, one of Tan An:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Tan An. Tan An:s Trần Khoi showed great skill when he stopped Thilo Bopp:s penalty. In the 11th minute, Westerland FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Trần Huynh Duc fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 14 minutes into the game, Lê Teo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tan An's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Westerland FC the free kick. Lê Teo hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Wanja Pyka might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Trần Khoi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wanja Pyka ran back to his position shaking his head. After 24 minutes of play, Westerland FC's Akim Pflüger made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Trần Khoi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thilo Bopp's late challenge caught a Tan An's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thilo Bopp helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpected shot in the 28th minute by Trần Huynh Duc got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 46 minutes into the game, Ngô Hoai was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tan An's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Westerland FC the free kick. The supporters of Westerland FC booed when Tan An was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ngô Hoai didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nguyễn Ritchell was the one to do the kick off. An unexpected shot in the 55th minute by Wanja Pyka got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After having played for 57 minutes, Nguyễn Ritchell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tan An's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Ritchell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Akim Pflüger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Akim Pflüger in the 61st minute of play forced Tan An's goalkeeper Trần Khoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Thilo Bopp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wanja Pyka sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Ritchell in the 79th minute of play forced Westerland FC's goalkeeper Ede Süßmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Nguyễn Ritchell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Westerland FC's Ronaldo Bomm got a free kick in the 82nd minute. After 83 played minutes, Tan An's Lê Teo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ede Süßmann came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tan An reached it. In the 92nd minute, Trần Huynh Duc got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Westerland FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
