In the 18th minute, Willian Félix hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 24 minutes into the game, Jerônimo Salles cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Samuel Fiúza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The throw-in from Bonifaco Elenes in the 28th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Gremio Viana's Albi Koka. Rogério Ceni stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jiang De's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. In the 34th minute Gremio Viana were awarded a corner. Augustin Panaiteanu went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Gremio Viana's Augustin Panaiteanu to fire away a dangerous shot which Rogério Ceni despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The supporters of Diamante Negro DK - VV booed when Gremio Viana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severino Torcato didn't get a good kick on the ball. 43 minutes into the match, Gremio Viana's goal looked a bit too open when Wiliam Perez came free, but Samuel Fiúza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Jiang De had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 45 minutes into the match, Diamante Negro DK - VV's goal looked a bit too open when Jiang De came free, but Rogério Ceni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gremio Viana's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tony Påk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Diamante Negro DK - VV made a substitution. Hugo Zonta replaced Willian Félix. Gremio Viana's Antonio Calisto was substituted for Tony Påk. In the 76th minute Carlos Luna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogério Ceni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Villarreal Ubach's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Samuel Fiúza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Samuel Fiúza didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Villarreal Ubach went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Diamante Negro DK - VV's Villarreal Ubach got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Villarreal Ubach came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Diamante Negro DK - VV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Villarreal Ubach couldn't finish the play. 86 minutes into the game, Albi Koka was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gremio Viana's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Diamante Negro DK - VV the free kick. Diamante Negro DK - VV made a substitution. Sidney de Queirós replaced Victor Silva. Albi Koka hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Villarreal Ubach in the 88th minute of play forced Gremio Viana's goalkeeper Samuel Fiúza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Samuel Fiúza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Villarreal Ubach, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Samuel Fiúza didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Villarreal Ubach went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score.
Diamante Negro DK - VV's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
