In the 4th minute Kyriakos Seremetis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Naldo Proença saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thomas Kallergis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Naldo Proença took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Markos Seremetidis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A throw-in in the 21st minute of the game was made by Ryszard Janiczek with Váldson Bittencourt as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. The crowd rose to their feet as Scarlet Speedster's Fausto Mendonça slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Akis Sarafis. That made the score 1-0 after 28 minutes of play. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Fausto Mendonça took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Akis Sarafis to make any attempt to save it. Scarlet Speedster's Naldo Proença played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Markos Seremetidis in the 37th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Fausto Mendonça made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Mendonça in the 52nd minute of play forced AFC Ajax's goalkeeper Akis Sarafis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. AFC Ajax's Michelangelo Merganiotis was substituted for Markos Seremetidis. Scarlet Speedster's Edward Krzynowek quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Lambis Zacharatos, made in the 58th minute of the game. With a little luck, Scarlet Speedster's Naldo Proença got control of the ball when Michelangelo Merganiotis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Naldo Proença made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bob Marley in the 64th minute. Akis Sarafis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raigo Vananurm in the 70th minute of play. Naldo Proença made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Miltos Margaritidis sent off a good shot on target. After 87 played minutes AFC Ajax got a freekick which was hit by Lambis Zacharatos. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Mendonça in the 89th minute of play forced AFC Ajax's goalkeeper Akis Sarafis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Naldo Proença showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bob Marley, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Fausto Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Akis Sarafis having to interfere. The Scarlet Speedster support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
