In the 6th minute, one of Horsham United:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Horsham United. When the match had been going on for 8 minutes, The Institute's Stoimen Glavchev got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Joseph Bamberger. Julien Drachmann's late challenge caught a The Institute's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Julien Drachmann helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Horsham United's Julien Drachmann got a free kick in the 10th minute. A collision led to Horsham United getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Jupp von dem Bussche-Haddenhausen hit a great ball. Patrick Lützel charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patrick Lützel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 19th match minute, Horsham United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrick Lützel to maneuver through the defense. Valcho Kasavetov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stoimen Glavchev in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joseph Bamberger saved Horsham United from getting behind. 30 minutes into the match, Horsham United's Julien Drachmann sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vitko Shalamanov narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Vitko Shalamanov came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Horsham United's Jupp von dem Bussche-Haddenhausen. But to his dismay, Jupp von dem Bussche-Haddenhausen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stoimen Glavchev got free with Joseph Bamberger in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stoimen Glavchev to make the kick off. Horsham United's Joseph Bamberger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stoimen Glavchev in the 52nd minute of play. 55 minutes into the game, Stoimen Glavchev cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Joseph Bamberger was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Horsham United's Christof Wagner got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vitko Shalamanov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jupp von dem Bussche-Haddenhausen, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Vitko Shalamanov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julien Drachmann in the 67th minute of the match. 69 minutes into the match, Stoimen Glavchev had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joseph Bamberger. Horsham United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stoimen Glavchev was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Christof Wagner during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 74th match minute, Horsham United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christof Wagner to maneuver through the defense. Karamfil Bodurov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joseph Bamberger having to interfere. After having played for 79 minutes, Jupp von dem Bussche-Haddenhausen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Horsham United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jupp von dem Bussche-Haddenhausen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in The Institute's zone, Jupp von dem Bussche-Haddenhausen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vitko Shalamanov came out of the goal and Jupp von dem Bussche-Haddenhausen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to The Institute getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Valcho Kasavetov hit a great ball. Stoimen Glavchev took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joseph Bamberger. Joseph Bamberger dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-1. Joseph Bamberger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stoimen Glavchev in the 90th minute of play.
