The crowd rose to their feet as JFSP's Hermínio Meirelles slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Roberto Baiano. That made the score 1-0 after 11 minutes of play. Pedro Paulo Peixoto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 22 minutes into the match, Hermínio Meirelles had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roberto Baiano. Lobo Guará's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hermínio Meirelles was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 28th minute, Miguel Monsalve ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Giorgi Mamardashvili was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After a rather tough play, JFSP's Ismael Velloso got a free kick in the 35th minute. In the 36th match minute, JFSP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cássio Magalhães to maneuver through the defense. When Válbson Aguiar fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lobo Guará's protests and gave Válbson Aguiar a yellow card for diving instead. In the 38th match minute, Lobo Guará was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Válbson Aguiar to maneuver through the defense. Pedro Paulo Peixoto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Roberto Baiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abcdefghijklmno Abcdefghijklmnopqrst was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Lobo Guará booed when JFSP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danilo de Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lobo Guará made a substitution. Hílton de Medeiros replaced Chico Couto. After 61 played minutes JFSP got a freekick which was hit by Danilo de Queiroz. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Artur Branco in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Giorgi Mamardashvili prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in JFSP's zone, Artur Branco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Giorgi Mamardashvili came out of the goal and Artur Branco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Giorgi Mamardashvili made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Miguel Monsalve sent off a good shot on target. Gláuber Fonseca's late challenge caught a Lobo Guará's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gláuber Fonseca helped the player get up and apologised. Gláuber Fonseca hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After having played for 80 minutes, Artur Branco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lobo Guará's supporters crossed their fingers, but Artur Branco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Miguel Monsalve could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Giorgi Mamardashvili made a huge save. Artur Branco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giorgi Mamardashvili having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Lobo Guará players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for JFSP.
