In the 2nd match minute, ҜƗŇǤ ŁƗØŇ Ř€Đ βŁΔĆҜ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiaguinho Hermes to maneuver through the defense. After 5 minutes, Tiaguinho Hermes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ҜƗŇǤ ŁƗØŇ Ř€Đ βŁΔĆҜ and the Palestra do Interior players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ulysses Peixoto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jhon Barcellos, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serafim Simão in the 7th minute of play forced ҜƗŇǤ ŁƗØŇ Ř€Đ βŁΔĆҜ's goalkeeper Ulysses Peixoto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wilian Quadros received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante came out and tried to block the shot, but Wilian Quadros slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 11th minute. Nando de Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antônio Carlos Cavalcante having to interfere. Ivo Fantini recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ulysses Peixoto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dedé Mazer, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 25th minute Rogério Fantini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antônio Carlos Cavalcante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ulysses Peixoto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from William Luz in the 26th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jhon Barcellos in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ulysses Peixoto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ulysses Peixoto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Serafim Simão, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wilian Quadros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Wilian Quadros kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. With a little luck, ҜƗŇǤ ŁƗØŇ Ř€Đ βŁΔĆҜ's Ulysses Peixoto got control of the ball when Serafim Simão tried to sneak it across the goal line. William Luz kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. The supporters of ҜƗŇǤ ŁƗØŇ Ř€Đ βŁΔĆҜ booed when Palestra do Interior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dedé Mazer didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, ҜƗŇǤ ŁƗØŇ Ř€Đ βŁΔĆҜ's Geovanni Proença got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Ulysses Peixoto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jhon Barcellos in the 75th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Serafim Simão notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of ҜƗŇǤ ŁƗØŇ Ř€Đ βŁΔĆҜ's Ulysses Peixoto. Ulysses Peixoto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
