In the 5th minute of the match Poli Timisoara got a corner. Palestra14's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Çağdaş Yuvakuran ran over to the corner to take the kick. Mauro Primeiro scored 0-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Frits Heinel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 12th minute, Julien-Nils Trede made a precise shot to the right of Frits Heinel. Palestra14's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. 17 minutes into the match, Palestra14's goal looked a bit too open when Julien-Nils Trede came free, but Frits Heinel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frits Heinel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Çağdaş Yuvakuran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frits Heinel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julien-Nils Trede's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adib Ovi in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Frits Heinel saved Palestra14 from getting behind. Despite this Frits Heinel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Poli Timisoara's Ovidiu Adrian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Attilio Torelli in the 30th minute of play. 32 minutes had been played when some careless play by Palestra14's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Çağdaş Yuvakuran was slow to take the kick. During this time Poli Timisoara's players had a chance to rest. An unexpectedly hard shot by Çağdaş Yuvakuran in the 35th minute of play forced Palestra14's goalkeeper Frits Heinel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 0-3 became the score in the 39th minute when Julien-Nils Trede elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Frits Heinel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adib Ovi in the 56th minute of the match. Nino Sócrates hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Frits Heinel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julien-Nils Trede in the 61st minute of play. After 68 minutes, Julien-Nils Trede made it 0-5 with a short kick to the right side. Palestra14's Frits Heinel tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julien-Nils Trede in the 71st minute of play forced Palestra14's goalkeeper Frits Heinel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Palestra14's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Çağdaş Yuvakuran was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-6. 88 minutes into the game, Palestra14's Cain Vieri nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ovidiu Adrian made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-6. In the 90th minute Beppe Dorigatti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidiu Adrian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julien-Nils Trede received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Frits Heinel came out and tried to block the shot, but Julien-Nils Trede slotted it home off the left post making it 2-7 in the 94th minute. Poli Timisoara's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
