Candido Millan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Haroldo Suarez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Candido Millan made a huge save. A collision led to Palermo getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Baldomiro Gamus hit a great ball. In the 21st minute, Leandro Paredes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Baldomiro Gamus might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benicio Txeru. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Baldomiro Gamus ran back to his position shaking his head. Haroldo Suarez kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. In the 30th minute Anibal Fernendo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benicio Txeru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Palermo's Candido Millan got control of the ball when Milton Giménez tried to sneak it across the goal line. Anibal Fernendo hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Palermo's defense didn't have a chance, in the 40th minute, when Fausto Abarca scored to the left of an out of position Candido Millan, making the score, 3-0. Benicio Txeru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Maraman, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pedro Maraman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 54 minutes of play, Abuba Akotonon FC's Fulgencio Shepherd made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Candido Millan was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 58th minute, Daniel Cristofol got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Milton Giménez in the 62nd minute of play forced Palermo's goalkeeper Candido Millan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mariano Urtungo kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. After 64 played minutes Abuba Akotonon FC got a freekick which was hit by Haroldo Suarez. Leonides Elizardo hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. In the 69th minute of the match Haroldo Suarez sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Candido Millan skillfully saved the ball. Candido Millan came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Abuba Akotonon FC's Milton Giménez. But to his dismay, Milton Giménez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. After 81 played minutes Abuba Akotonon FC got a freekick which was hit by Blas-Armando Giunta. Anibal Fernendo's late challenge caught a Abuba Akotonon FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anibal Fernendo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 95th minute, Anibal Fernendo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
