The coaching staff of Palermo protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Anselmo Domingues had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 22 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Palermo! With a little luck, Palermo's Candido Millan got control of the ball when Uriel Teyo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Palermo's Candido Millan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Pudes in the 28th minute of play. 29 minutes into the game, Pedro Maraman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Candido Millan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 47th minute, Alvaro Ermano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Candido Millan was out of position in the 48 minute of play, and Teofilo Tiso capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Teofilo Tiso really showed his touch with that goal: 5-0.

The wind increased when Marco Pudes made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, El retorno del Pincha's Saturnino Michael got a free kick in the 58th minute. Serafin Castulo's late challenge caught a Palermo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Serafin Castulo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Palermo booed when El retorno del Pincha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serafin Castulo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 59th minute, Leonides Elizardo sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and El retorno del Pincha's Feliberto Jerardo didn't even have to move. After a rather tough play, Palermo's Alvaro Ermano got a free kick in the 63rd minute. After having played for 64 minutes, Teofilo Tiso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El retorno del Pincha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teofilo Tiso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 75 minutes into the game, Mariano Urtungo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palermo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave El retorno del Pincha the free kick. Palermo's Candido Millan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Pudes in the 78th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Anibal Fernendo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Feliberto Jerardo. That made the score 5-1 in the 79 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Pudes in the 85th minute of play forced Palermo's goalkeeper Candido Millan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 88 minutes of play, El retorno del Pincha's Marco Pudes made it 6-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Candido Millan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Candido Millan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saturnino Michael in the 91st minute of the match. A collision led to El retorno del Pincha getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Saturnino Michael hit a great ball.
