CF Scalonetos's Vicente Beliran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arturo Pirro in the 27th minute of play. After 30 minutes, Sixto Ugaitz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CF Scalonetos and the ATLETICO MENDOZA players grew even worse after the yellow card. 33 minutes into the game, Paolo Godoy was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CF Scalonetos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ATLETICO MENDOZA the free kick. In the 33rd minute, Paolo Godoy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vicente Beliran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arturo Pirro in the 38th minute of play. After some careless play in the CF Scalonetos defense, Arturo Pirro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vicente Beliran. The CF Scalonetos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vicente Beliran should have stopped the shot. The referee felt a red card was in order, 46 minutes into the game, when Mario Senio put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 46th minute of the game. One of CF Scalonetos:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of ATLETICO MENDOZA:s goal. The referee gave ATLETICO MENDOZA a penalty, 48 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Hector Ferran, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of CF Scalonetos's Vicente Beliran. 0-3. After the first half ATLETICO MENDOZA were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

A collision led to CF Scalonetos getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Reynaldo Huly hit a great ball. Vicente Beliran was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Arturo Pirro showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 61 minute of play. CF Scalonetos's Vicente Beliran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hector Ferran in the 64th minute of play. ATLETICO MENDOZA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Efrain Aritza in the 66th minute. Efrain Aritza made a great header on ATLETICO MENDOZA's corner, it was just that CF Scalonetos's Vicente Beliran managed to reach the ball for a save. 73 minutes into the match, CF Scalonetos's goal looked a bit too open when Arturo Pirro came free, but Vicente Beliran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute, Ignacio Roldan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Efrain Aritza came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the ATLETICO MENDOZA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Efrain Aritza couldn't finish the play. Vicente Beliran was a little too slow when Esteve Orlandus got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 80th minute. The score was now 0-5. 88 minutes into the game, Esteve Orlandus recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vicente Beliran. Esteve Orlandus showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. ATLETICO MENDOZA's Anastasio Bittor got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Arturo Pirro managed to get in a good position for a shot. ATLETICO MENDOZA's supporters rose to their feet, but Arturo Pirro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vicente Beliran breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. ATLETICO MENDOZA's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
